Tom Hayes, a veteran Silicon Valley Marketer provides surprising insights into why traditional marketing techniques just don't work for the "Bubble Generation"

Always on the lookout for new and interesting blogs on the subject of marketing, I came across this great new blog today. http://tombomb.typepad.com/ is a featured Typepad blog this week, and for good reason; it is an outstanding blog!

Tom Hayes blog posts mostly focus on the market many businesses are struggling to master - the 18-29 year olds or so-called " Bubble Generation". Tom points out that this age group doesn't watch TV or consult traditional media - so unless you advertise on YouTube or MySpace, your message will be lost.

What this age group does pay attention to is the "third screen" - their cell phone screen. Reaching this demographic means working to achieve a viable mobile advertising strategy. Thankfully there are many companies now working on technology to deliver coupons, scaled down ads for a smaller screen, and new mobile ads integrated with ringtones designed just for this crowd.

If you plan at all to sell to the "Bubble Generation", I highly recommend that you check out this blog.
