Buzz in the blogosphere is the new way to create marketing presence. Enter the concept of paid bloggers - solicited by companies directly, and through sites set up for just that purpose. .
Hard core bloggers are really upset about this, and see it as a dilution of their little corner of the world. My question is this - how is this different from marketing methods of yesteryear? Do you really think all those celebrities on TV actually USED the products they were endorsing? Has anyone ever filmed Michael Jackson drinking a Pepsi outside of the famous commercials?
I have no problem with it, and I see it as a great way to get people talking about your product. Ethical marketing does demand one thing from them, however. It is really not cool if the blogger doesn't disclose that he or she is being paid to say what they are saying.
