Marketing online content means driving traffic to the source. RedGage is a Website that allows online writers to post links to their work and pays them to do it!

Marketing online content is something online writers are always doing to promote their work. There are many different kinds of online content, including blogs, photos, videos and articles. Many sites pay per page view, making driving traffic to the online site a priority for the online writer wanting to make money with his or her content.

Posting Back Links to Online Content

Writing for sites like Suite 101, eHow and others is a great way to publish content online, but once it is up there it takes work to drive traffic to their articles. Websites like RedGage have made this an easier task. Writers can sign up for an account, then immediately begin uploading links, videos, photos, and documents to their page. The links can be to articles written for other sites like Suite 101. Each link includes the title of the article, keywords, and a description of the content. The links are viewed by other member of RedGage as well as general Internet traffic driven by keyword searches.

Once someone views a link in RedGage, credit is given to the person who posted the link, and, if the viewer clicks on the link, he or she is taken to the original article on Suite 101 or wherever it resides. That gives the owner of the piece more views and possibly additional revenue from the original site. RedGage pays on a per view basis, with the average being around $1.14 per 1000 views, creating a double stream of income for the posted content.

Photos, Videos, Blogs, and Documents

Photos, videos, documents from the personal collections of the members can be posted on RedGage as well, each earning per page view. Blog entries contain back links to the original blog. Videos can either be directly uploaded or imported from YouTube. Page views are credited on every item that is posted on the member's page and earnings are updated immediately.

Contests, Bonuses, and Payment

In July, RedGage is holding daily, weekly, and monthly contests. The daily contest winners receive a $50 VISA gift card that can be used anywhere VISA is accepted. Each Sunday night a winner will receive a $150 gift card and at the end of the month one lucky winner will win a $400 gift card. The card is kept and used to load earnings onto in $25 increments so members do not have to wait for payment. The contest is a random drawing from all the 'raffle entries' each member accumulates through the day. Raffle entries are points earned in various ways, including rating and commenting on other member postings, number of page views, and recommending others to the site. The points are cleared each day for the random daily drawing, but all points are saved and entered into the weekly and monthly drawings.

Another way to earn money at RedGage is to have content featured on the home page. Blog entries, photos, links, documents, and videos are chosen every day and bonus amounts are added to the earnings. The bonuses seem to be averaging in the $4.00-$5.00 range, some higher. The pay per page view ranges from .80 to $1.20 per 1,000 views.

Social Networking

RedGage goes beyond social networking because members not only share their own content, they are being paid for it. Relationships are built through posting on member 'walls' just like in FaceBook or MySpace. Members can set their accounts up to automatically post their content links in Twitter and to import items from blog sites like Blogger, or WordPress and photos from Flickr. This gives the member's content even more exposure.

The Bottom Line

At the end of the day, online content creators want to make sure their content is going out to as many places as possible and using a Website like RedGage is a very good way to do that and get paid for it at the same time!
