Another way to promote your affiliate business besides Google Ads is to embed links in articles and blog posts. These avenues are free, and fun!
Google Ads are a productive way of running an affiliate business, but can be costly - depending on what keywords you use. A totally free way of promoting your affiliate links is to write articles about your products and embed the links within your text. As they are part of text that your readers are interested in, there is a high probability they will be clicked and followed. If you have a blog site, you can monetize your blog by including links in lists on the side bar, embedding them in your text, and by buttons you can use as "widgets" that also add interest to your site. A great way to get a good blogsite is by using Typepad - Typepad has "widgets" available that allow you to place a number of ready made affiliate links in the sidebar such as Amazon.com and Cafepress. If you want to add your own, use the list function to enter HTML - and it will come up wherever you place it. If you don't have a blog site, consider joining a free blog site as a user. Two great ones are Soulcast.com and WritingUp. These sites also give you a percentage of your Google Adsense revenue when people click on Google ads targeted to your content. Each has a great subscriber base full of active participants who comment and read posts regularly. Make sure you believe in the product you are promoting as an affiliate, and your enthusiasm will shine through. Also, make sure to keep your articles and posts brief but packed with information. If they are too long, they will discourage today's busy reader from completing them. Use bullet points to keep them streamlined and focused on the facts your readers want to know. If you embed the links directly in the facts section, they will be more likely to be clicked. Make sure you keep it light, and interesting. Use tags so that search engines and sites such as De.lic.ious.com can find your content easily, and make sure to add your blogsite addresses and article addresses to your email signature. A great site that automatically generates tags for you is www.keotag.com - here you can get tags for De.lic.ious.com, Icerocket, and Technorati.
