One of the best things you can do for your business is to drive traffic to your website or blogsite.
Today, in my web travels, I came across one of the best articles I have seen on building links. Brandon Hopkins article " 66 Ways to Build Links in 2007" has a lot of great content - and of course, great links. Although a lot of this applies more to blog sites than to other types of sites, there is a lot of wisdom here for all. Some of the key points he made that are universally applicable are 1) Write an Authority Article and 2) Use Numbers in Your Titles (search engines find them first). I cannot say enough about the power of writing an authority article. Authority articles not only add credibility to your business, they receive high search engine ratings and send traffic to your site in droves. Using numbers in your titles makes sure you come up ahead of the competition. Adding a few items of my own, here are some other ways to build traffic - and link backs: 1) Visit similar sites and comment on them - leaving your email address and site address. Make sure your comments are astute, detailed, and relevant. 2) Go to community blog sites, set up an account and blog about your site. Include an easy to follow link. 3) Ask friendly sites to give you a link back. 4) If you have a blog site, sign up for BOTH Mybloglog and the Criteo Autoroll - plus any other blog roll you can get your hands on. This literally sends traffic to your site. 5) Add a discussion forum to your site, or a chat function Traffic is the name of the game in our web based economy!
